Ba Da Boom!

Bellefleur made quite a splash recently at their first show out in nearly a year. It was an after party to the Make-A-Wish fund raiser FIERCE09 , highly attended by the trendy who's-who of Nashville music and fashion. Fans were ecstatic to see the electro-tasty group that had been hiding in the studio recording for months, and it showed. It was a party! Not just a show you stand at with drink in hand and maybe tap your fingers lightly on your thigh. Oh no! Mel Bellefleur had all the girls that night on stage dancing with her, joining in the show, while everyone off stage danced along. No one was left standing still! No finger tapping allowed. Drinks were allowed however, and they flowed freely throughout. It was a fun time! Thanks to this show, and Bellefleur's incredible fans, they have developed some interest, so everyone stay tuned for the next Bellefleur show. They will need your support...and your hot dance moves. :-) Please get on myspace and facebook and add them and tell everyone to listen and download and add. It helps.Keep updated on show times here and at http://www.bellefleurmusic.com

How failure can also be success (A Beginner's Guide to Bellefleur)

If you set out to fail from the beginning, and then succeed at failing, is that considered failure or success? Some deep thoughts for 9:46AM on a Saturday.Mel and I (Ian) have been "underground" for over a year now. The disbanding of our previous project, Melator, did seem like failure in many ways. How could it not? However, we did it with the hope in view of a new, reborn, version of our music. Better, faster, stronger and all the other "er" words that you can think of. Bellefleur has been in the shadows for the last 12 months, but we have not been hiding. More like hibernating...although, I suppose I would have gotten more sleep had we actually been hibernating. The truth is that, other than not playing live, we've been more active musically than ever before. Mel and myself have found an equilibrium in our writing style, and the confidence that brings to our very presence and performance will be felt by everyone. A new recording project (I hesitate to call it an "album" for reasons that will be revealed later) is in the works, and we're doing it right. And we are approaching our re-entrance into the public music realm with a carefully executed strategy.Bellefleur is going to be something that all of our Melator fans will love, I'm sure. But I am also sure that those of you who like electronic music and have been waiting for something new and different will also be pleasantly surprised, amazed, and satisfied, while craving more. You can get a taste already by visiting our brand new homepage if you haven't already. We also have a presence on most of the major social network and music discovery sites (MySpace, Facebook, Twitter (@Bellefleurian or @Melbellefleur), iLike, ReverbNation, and BandCamp), so you will easily be able to connect to us from wherever you prefer to browse.I have posted 2 demo mixes of songs that are approaching the final stages of the recording process. I will post a third in the near future. I have also added a "bio" to all of our websites. Very soon, Mel and I will be adding video blogs to various sites with important updates and insights into our little world.I am also extremely excited to announce our first live performance in over a year! Bellefleur will be joining several other bands performing at the after party for a charity event that Mel's salon is hosting, to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. On August 6, Fierce Salon & Spa will host a music, art, and fashion extravaganza that will bring together the hottest local designers and boutiques in Midtown Nashville.
